Meet The Team -
At the heart of Risby Cove is a family-driven vision led by Jacinta and her two sons, Sebastian and Ryan. Together, they’ve poured their inspiration, dedication, and deep love for Tasmania into creating a truly unique experience on Tasmania’s wild West Coast.
Family-owned, Risby Cove is the first step in their broader dream: Allure Tasmania—an ambitious plan to create a collection of boutique retreats in some of the state’s most remarkable, lesser-known corners. From misty forests and rolling farmland to World Heritage wilderness and untouched coastlines, each destination will blend laid-back luxury with immersive, place-based experiences.
But their mission goes far beyond beautiful places to stay. Jacinta, Sebastian, and Ryan are passionate about celebrating Tasmania’s local producers, artists, storytellers, and communities. Each Allure retreat is designed not just as a gateway to extraordinary landscapes, but as a platform for the creativity and resilience of Tasmanians.
Every stay at Risby Cove—and soon, at each Allure retreat—is a reflection of this family’s commitment to sharing the heart and soul of Tasmania with the world.

Further Afield

Tasmania’s west coast offers travellers an unforgettable blend of rugged wilderness, remote coastal beauty, and rich history. Using Strahan as a base explore the spectacular natural and cultural experiences that lie just beyond the town. Ideal for self-drive travellers, couples, and small groups seeking a deeper, more authentic Tasmanian journey.
Day 1: Ocean Beach and Henty Sand Dunes
Begin the itinerary with a taste of the wild Tasmanian coast. Just minutes from Strahan, Ocean Beach stretches endlessly along the roaring Southern Ocean. This is Tasmania at its rawest — perfect for long beach walks, photography, and soaking up the solitude. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Henty Sand Dunes. These shifting, white sand mountains provide breathtaking views and thrilling activities like sandboarding and quad biking. For less active clients, simply walking among the dunes is a rewarding way to experience the area's dramatic landscape.
Day 2: Montezuma Falls and Zeehan
A short drive inland takes visitors to Montezuma Falls, one of Tasmania’s tallest waterfalls. The walking track to the falls is relatively flat and follows an old tramway through lush, temperate rainforest. The 3-hour return walk is suitable for most fitness levels and showcases moss-covered trees, flowing creeks, and abundant birdlife. After the walk, continue to Zeehan — once Tasmania’s booming mining town. The West Coast Heritage Centre in Zeehan offers an immersive look at the area’s mining, railway, and pioneering history, with expansive displays perfect for curious travellers.
Day 3: Mount Donaldson and Savage River Region
For clients who love hiking and remote wilderness, a day exploring the Mount Donaldson area is a must. The hike to the summit offers sweeping views across the rainforest-cloaked west coast. It’s a challenging but rewarding option for active travellers. Nearby, the Savage River and Pieman River areas offer quieter, off-grid experiences. Self-drive explorers or guided tours can lead clients through ancient rainforest trails, wild rivers, and pristine ecosystems that define Tasmania’s western wilds.
Day 4: Macquarie Heads and Trial Harbour
This day focuses on dramatic coastal landscapes. Macquarie Heads marks the turbulent meeting point of Macquarie Harbour and the Southern Ocean — known historically as Hells Gates. It’s ideal for walking, photography, and taking in the power of nature. From there, continue north along remote gravel tracks to Trial Harbour, a tiny, windswept shack settlement nestled between mountains and sea. It’s a place that feels like the end of the earth — unforgettable for clients who value wild, unspoiled beauty.
Day 5: Corrina and the Tarkine Edge
Cap off the journey with a trip north to Corinna, a remote eco-village at the edge of the Tarkine rainforest. Clients can enjoy short walks through pristine forest or explore nearby sites like the Whyte River, Lovers Falls, or the unique Huon Pine Walk. This region offers a slower pace and an immersive experience in one of the most biodiverse and untouched areas of Tasmania.
This itinerary delivers a compelling mix of scenic drives, accessible adventures, and cultural depth — ideal for agents seeking to offer clients a truly remote and memorable Tasmanian experience.
