Meet The Operators -

A Tasmanian born and bred, your host, Nathaniel Wicks did what many young islanders do and fled the state to see what the wide world had to offer. It took 9 years living away before realising the error of his ways and returned to Tasmania in November 2015 with the grand plan to launch Wingtons Glamping.

The old Westwynd Cottage location which has been in the family since the 1930's had all the character, the river views, and the natural bushland to make a perfect site for the project. The old cottage onsite was restored to its former glory, the landscapes revived with the planting of native bushland and a magnificent macrocarpa deck built by milling old fallen logs from the site.

Nathaniel considers it a great honour to carry on the role of protecting and sharing the beauty of the Tamar Valley with their guests. His goal is to nurture an environment in harmony with the nature and history of the area while allowing the guests to enjoy a relaxing, luxurious camping experience.

The glamping site is designed to be an antidote to all that is formal, artificial or contrived. By focusing on the essence of things, they hope to offer you a welcome retreat in tune with the spirit of the Tamar Valley.
